Gloucestershire Old Spot Pigs
We raise registered GOS pigs. During the first decade at Sunny Knoll, we raised registered Guinea Hogs and a variety of other pigs. Then we found Old Spots and fell in love with them. They are the best pigs we can imagine. They are so friendly, gentle, and easy to work with, by far the most manageable and fun breed we’ve tried. Our Old Spots really love their forage, which fits well with our goal of feeding as much grass as possible to produce healthy food. They love to graze on fresh green grass, and they devour alfalfa baleage when pasture isn’t available.
Part of the mission of our farm is rare breed conservation and so we are delighted to support the GOS. They are listed by the Ark of Taste and are on the Rare Breed Survival Trust List. The Livestock Conservancy lists them as endangered, with fewer than 2000 registered animals worldwide.
At this time, we are supporting the breed by growing feeders from other breeders. We do not have breeding stock or feeder pigs available for sale at this time.
